Anti-spam and Anti-virus

OVH has set out a few levels of email filtering to protect you from spam as well as from virus messages.

Configuration is available via the Email section in the Manager and applies to all email accounts for the chosen domain.

Available Levels of Protection

Level 1: Without Protection

There aren't any filters activated. It is down to you to sort out all the emails you receive, preferably using anti-virus, spyware and ad-aware applications.

Level 2: Anti-Spam Protection

OVH servers sort out the most common types of spam according to the spam black lists.

At this level most unsolicited commercial emails are removed

Level 3: Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam Protection

Your emails are examined by our filters. Those suspected of containing spam or viruses will be marked to indicate it.

A comment will be added to the message's Subject. That will allow you to remove the infected mail without the need to use any software.

You will receive all your emails

• [ *** PROBABLY SPAM *** ] : It might be SPAM
• [ *** SPAM ALERT *** ] : It is SPAM
• [ *** VIRUS ALERT *** ] : Message infected by a virus
• Messages containing SPAM and a virus are immediately deleted.
