Some search engines take into account the hosting IP's country of origin. In effect, a site hosted with a .ie domain has the purpose of addressing the Irish market. But what about a site with a .com domain? Thanks to country information gathered through your hosting IP, search engines can index your site better ... or worse. This is why OVH offers hosting with a geolocalisation option.
OVH operates 11 networks (which are networks of its subsidiaries) :
- France
- England
- Germany
- Spain
- Poland
- Italy
- Portugal
- Netherlands
- Czech Republic
- Ireland
- Lithuania
- Finland
Each of these networks is geolocalised by search engines in the country of our subsidiaries. This allows us to offer the hosting of sites for customers of our subsidiaries with the geolocation of the country. OVH proposes hosting in 11 countries without reducing the quality of SEO.
How it works

If you have shared hosting, you can choose the geolocation of the primary domain and the geolocation of multidomains attached to the main hosting.
Example:
You have Pro hosting with your primary .com domain. You choose the French geolocation for your primary domain. You attach a .es domain in your multidomain for your Pro hosting and choose the Spanish geolocation for this domain, while continuing to be geolocalised in France for the primary domain. Similarly, the .net domain is a German site and you choose to have the German geolocation for the latter. And so on, which gives you:
- mywebsite.com in Ireland
- mywebsite.es in Spain
- mywebsite.uk in Germany
- mywebsite.net in Germany
- mywebsite.pl in France
- mywebsite.fr in Poland
